RAMBLE: THE FEELS OF MUSIC

In so many words, I get very emotional when listening to certain music. Music is a very unbiased feeling while also being an unbiased experience, simply because music has no reason to judge.

There’s a song for every emotion, and a melody for every thought. For every feeling moment, which is everything dealing with our existence, there’s tune for it. Literally the soundtrack of our lives. The feeling you get when you hear a certain song, or a nice “beat drop” and it yanks your soul out you body, gives you chills, and makes you feel all tingly inside. In that moment you can’t help but feel pure happiness. We’re suppose to feel like that. It’s our God given gift. Picture yourself riding down the street, on a nice summer day with your best friend and homies, with not a care in the world. You can’t help but image music blasting, on the highest volume that volumes can go, playing in the background! WHEN THAT BEAT DROPS, YOUR HEART DROPS!

And what makes music even more mind blowing, is the fact that it not only YANKS your soul out your body, gives you BODILY-STIMULATING CHILLS, and makes you feel all TINGLY inside, is the fact that it teaches life lessons. Something as simple as another human being telling a story that could or could not be true, and you relating to it so much, and you finding something worth keeping out of it that you will later use for your own personal growth is, again, so mind blowing. We listen to music everyday, and everyday there are millions of people having epiphanies after listening to works of art. For example, after listening to Kendrick Lamar’s album, To Pimp A Butterfly, nine times out of ten, every black man and women in America, and across the seas, were left with a higher consciousness they did not have prior to listening to the album. To Pimp A Butterfly taught me more than a dozen life-keeping lessons while also teaching the people around me as well. And that’s just one album out of the millions out there. Image all the albums out there in the universe holding the keys to life. And all we have to do is listen?

Artist like Bob Dilan, he taught men simple things like how to treat a lady in songs like Lay Lady Lay, where he talks highly of a women and encourages men to give their all to these women. Jazz music. It teaches how “love making” is better than just sex. Jazz choreographs dance and rhythm and the body. It helps with being humble and smooth, while being unpredictable yet accepting of everything. Much like life.

Music is a “multigasm,” which is an orgasm of the mind. It does more than just one thing for you! It is a universal teacher, free of charge. There are parent-less people out in the world who realized that, even though statistically growing up without a father or mother will dramatically effect their future, life still needs to be lived, lessons still need to be learned. Simple things easily taught through music.

Eryah Badu. She helped with the understanding of karma and the phrase “whats goes around comes around” through songs like Bag Lady. Erykah Badu’s music helped listeners with real life, textbooks closed situations. The stuff that happens after you get out of school and have to really live life. I’m convinced she can see the future because her old 90’s music is still relevant today. Music, if taken serious, can live on forever.

Music makes me feel PURIFIED or NOURISHED. It’s like water. I feel HOLY and ANGELIC when music comes on. Music is GOD or a higher power and again, it doesn’t judge. It’s living. Alive and well. It has the power to shift and knock you off balance, but by the end of the song, it makes sense. Music is energy. Music is glucose. It feeds the soul. For example, eating is happiness. Food makes everyone feel good. Definitely when you’re starving and haven’t eaten all day. Music is equivalent to the happiness I feel when I haven’t eaten in hours and I come home to a cooked meal waiting on me at the door! Music is acceptance and makes you want to be apart of something better. It’s a living spirit. A highly favored angel. Our guardian angel. Music has our back. It’s powerful. Heaven sent. Always there and will help us learn, grown and evolve as a people.

Music is everything
